Amazon app has been removed from Google Play’s app store on Friday. The app you may have used for the past several years to access Amazon is no more available at Google Play store. Google changed one of its criteria for allowing apps on Google Play Store that is why Amazon app has been removed from Google online portal for mobile app based on Android.
On Friday Amazon app was suddenly disappeared from Play Store listings, Amazon says it pulled it out itself but some people says Google kicked it out from its Play Store.
In October 2014 it was discovered that Amazon’s main app had apps for sale directly through it. Google did not like that at all and kicked Amazon app from its Play store. In October last year Amazon acknowledged that its app on Google Play Store now also allowed users to buy apps directly.
On the same day Amazon explained that why its app was removed from Google Play store. Amazon Spokesperson said that on 9 September 2014 they launched a new Amazon App for Android Phones which provides customers access to the Prime Instant Video player, an award-winning mobile shopping experience and unlimited streaming of over 15,000 TV episodes and movies.
According to an Amazon representative, they removed the app from Google Play and published the Amazon shopping app because Google had changed its Developer Distribution Agreement on 25 September, 2014. Amazon representative said that they removed the app from Google Play and published the Amazon Shopping apps. He said that customers can still get the Amazon App for Android Phones at Amazon website.
