Apple announced its new iMac, the desktop computer with the Retina 5K display. It features 14.7 million pixels which are the highest resolution display in the world. The Retina 5K iMac with its amazing display, faster CPU, Fusion Drive and Thunderbolt 2 became the most beautiful and powerful iMac ever. It will start selling at the $2499 while the non-Retina 27-inch iMac will continue selling at $1799 and the non-Retina 21.5-inch iMac at $1099.
The 5K iMac has four times more pixel density than the standard non-Retina 27-inch iMac while compared with the 4K display it has 67 percent more pixels. With this amazing display the text on new iMac looks as sharp as the printed pages while its photos are also the high-resolution with extreme detail. The display for new Retina iMac is made for high end performance, power efficiency and breathtaking visual quality. It uses a precisely manufactured oxide TFT-based panel that will deliver vivid display brightness from corner to corner. It also comes with a single supercharged timing controller (TCON) which drives all 14.7 million pixels with four times its bandwidth. For the improved image quality and reduction in power consumption its display also uses efficient LEDs and organic passivisation. This effort will improve the image quality and reduce power consumption by 30 percent.
While display became its mark that makes its outside amazing, it also managed to create a powerful inside. The new iMac comes with a 3.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with up to 3.9 GHz Turbo Boost speeds. It can also be setup with a 4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 4.4 GHz Turbo Boost speeds. It has an AMD Radeon R9 M290X graphics which can also be configured with AMD Radeon R9 M295X graphics The iMac with Retina 5K display comes with 8GB of memory and a 1TB Fusion Drive for the first time. It can also be configured with up to 32GB of memory, a 3TB Fusion Drive, or up to 1TB of super-fast, PCIe-based flash storage. The new iMac comes with the powerful new version of OS X, the Yosemite. The new OS X Yosemite is also designed to take full advantage of the iMac’s Retina 5K display, delivering stunning clarity across all your apps.
