It seems that the Apple has adopted the strategy of ‘small’. The smaller the better was the mantra of the Apple event today. It is astonishing to see Apple shrinking the size of its products when all the other renowned names are busy stretching and thinning their Smartphones and tablets. Along with the new 4-inch iPhone SE, Apple has also reduced the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, released in November, to 9.7 inches.
The new iPad Pro carries the price tag starting from $600 for a 32-gigabyte version and up to $900 for a 256-gigabyte version. The availability of the tablet will start from 31st March. The Smartphones have started to get bigger and bigger, this is the reason that tablets are losing their charms as well as sales. Apple has also been under the same impression. For the last two years, the iPad sales are continually decreasing.
Apple, when launched, iPad Pro hoped that it will provide a boost to the sales. However, unfortunately, it couldn’t keep up with the impression. In the December quarter, unit sales fall from 25 percent to 16.1 million. That marked the eighth consecutive quarter iPad sales have fallen from the previous year. This is the reason Apple decided to inject some life into the sales and the iPad sector. Adding new features to being able to view two apps at once or allowing it connect to a stylus is a positive way to attract customers. The stylus, called the Apple Pencil, is also designed to appeal to creative types like artists or graphic designers.
Tim Cook, chief executive of Apple, during the event at the company’s corporate headquarters in Cupertino, California said that;
“So powerful and so capable, it truly is the future of personal computing.”
Apple also announced a cool new feature. The feature is named as True Tone. It adjusts the color of the display depending on the lighting of the room. The idea behind this feature is to give the screen a warmer or cooler color tone. The cool tablet even comes with palm-rejection software, so you can put your hands on the screen if you’re drawing. Pretty amazing. Right?
As for the camera, the iPad comes with a 12MP shooter capable of recording 4K high-definition videos. The iPad will be available in silver, gold, space grey and, rose gold hues.
