Last year, sources related to Samsung leaked some model numbers of Galaxy S7. Later on, the leak was found to be completely credible and the code names listed in the leaks were the exact ones that Samsung now uses to denote the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The leak was so detailed that the devices were even split by chipset models. Today another such leak has been surfaced and it is related to the Galaxy Note 6.
The rumour mill is currently generating quite a few rumours about this device so, the credibility of this leak is still unknown. But, we think there is significant chance that this is the real deal.
Today’s leak has disclosed the model numbers of the upcoming Galaxy Note 6. The phablet is codenamed, Project Grace and this was known for quite some time. There are also letters in the leaked list that indicated the existence of a European model of the Note 6 separately. This indicates that Samsung might have ditched the controversial strategy that had restricted the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ to be released in Europe last year. The Galaxy Note 5 was officially unavailable in the European continent last year.
The leaked list is displayed below. You can clearly see that there is a version, with abbreviation EUR that is situated at the end of the list. EUR is the standard abbreviation of Europe. Furthermore, the model numbers seem to have been streamlined, only the US has one version with different carrier settings. This should speed up the software update process of the Galaxy Note 6. Samsung will be able to push out the update considerably faster than when there were multiple models.
Othe rumours have also revealed that the Galaxy Note 6 will have IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The phablet will also feature an iris scanner, and is rumoured to be powered by an upgraded version of Snapdragon 820; the Snapdragon 823 SoC. Furthermore, there are indications that the Note 6 will also be available in dual-Sim models in some markets.
