Galaxy S7 Edge camera tests unveil some interesting details

Just yesterday a report hinted that there is the difference in the performance of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) between the Exynos and Snapdragon-equipped Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge models. However, a new report has surfaced and claimed that there might be some differences in the working of the camera too. The news came through the courtesy of a thread on XDA Developers.

S7 Edge Camera

The thread has depicted that some of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge models will come with a Sony-made sensor while others are equipped with Samsung’s camera sensors. There is no significant difference between the working of both cameras as they boast same features, resolution and video recording capabilities. Currently, we didn’t have evidence which supports the fact that one of the camera sensors has a weightage over the other.

It is not fair to assume that those who have got the Sony sensor are privileged because Samsung has done a lot in the previous year to make Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge happen. So, until we see a proof supporting a claim that one of the shooters has an edge over the other, we can’t believe the flying assumptions.

Additionally, there is no strict rule that which version of the Smartphone will be supporting which sensor. We have no clear pattern indicating to the inclusion of sensors on a specific phone. If, any case, you are interested to know the details of the sensor fitted inside your S7 Edge, download the AIDA64 app from the Google Play Store. The app will take access to your camera and detect the setup. After finding out the details, the app will let you know the answer in the ‘Devices’ section.

This is not it. With the device coming with two different camera sensors, it still is breaking records on many fronts. This time around, it is proved that the Smartphone has better autofocus than a DSLR. The DSLR, which has proved the worth of the camera of the S7 Edge, is the Canon 70D. It is important to note that the flagship is the first Smartphone ever to feature a Dual Pixel autofocus (AF) system. This is the core reason the simple 12MP main camera is the hit above all the other Smartphones in the market.

Due to the amazing shooter and the AF system, a Taiwanese user decided to put the Galaxy S7 to the test against the Canon 70D which is one of the best DSLRs with AF out there. The first part of the test was that he kept an eye on the tracking of the both devices while capturing the moving objects. The first section of the test generously proved that the camera of the Smartphone has an edge over the famous Canon.

The other part of the trial was also an autofocus test but in low light. Again, the Samsung flagship was better with incredible quality and focus speed as well. These tests are not so pro and arduous, but, all users want are the comparison which can prove the worth of their gadgets in plain language and conditions. Users are getting extremely excited over the wonder features of the Samsung flagship. No doubt, every other day, we see some new exciting update on the better side.

So, if you have are waiting for the proper launch March 11th is just around the corner. As soon as you get your hands-on the device, do let us know about its working and features too!
