Huawei‘s latest flagship smartphone the Huawei P9 is set to be unveiled on Huawei’s April 6th event. The Huawei P9 will be available in three variants; Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei P9 Max and the Huawei P9. Leica is also collaborating with Huawei on the P9 to bring us a brilliant smartphone camera. Recently, an image which displays the back side of a silver Huawei P9 surfaced on the internet.
The image confirms Leica’s input in the smartphone’s camera, as the company’s initials are clearly visible on the smartphone’s back. The image also confirms the dual rear camera set up specification on the Huawei P9. Along with the camera there is also flash, and a laser auto focus at the back of the smartphone. Rumours have claimed that the rear cameras are both 12 MP. The front facing camera weighs in at 8 MP.
Speculations on the Huawei P9’s specifications suggest that the smartphone will have a 5.2 inch display with 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. GFXBench test recently revealed that the flagship device will be powered by Huawei’s very own Kirin 955 SoC chip set which carries four Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. The smartphone will be powered by 2900mAh battery cell. Other specifications include 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM whereas the smartphone’s operating system will be the Android 6.0. Marshmallow.
The listed specifications aren’t yet confirmed and there is still confusion about them, mostly because there are three variants of the P9. The P9 MAx is expected to be a hyped up, enhanced version of the P9, while P9 Lite will be lighter and more affordable. There is speculation that all of these variants may be revealed on the April 6th event.
In earlier leaks, the flagship’s specifications were 3GB of RAM and Kirin 950 chipset. But the recently announced specifications; the 4 GB RAM and Kirin 955 SoC is more high powered than that. The back image also confirms the finger print scanner, but the design of the scanner is still not confirmed because some images feature a square shaped scanner, while others sport a round one.
Coming Wednesday, we should have all the specifications confirmed as the Huawei P9 officially reveals on April 16.
