Apple has just introduced small iPhone SE along with the 9.7-inch iPad Pro in its 21st March event. For the continual to its flagship series, we will have to wait until September to know more. It’s a long wait but still there are rumors and speculations regarding the upcoming device. However, the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is once again back with his classy predictions.
The KGI Securities analyst has predicted that iPhone line is expected to undergo a complete change. He further claimed that the flagships will ditch the metallic finish and will also leave the AMOLED display technology, far behind.
The iPhone 4 and 4S came with a glass body, but that trend change when the iPhone 5 as launched with a metallic finish. Kuo has predicted that the Cupertino may jump back to the older design, this time. The analyst even said that the company is also thinking about the ceramic and plastic detailing but can opt to the glass by the end. Apple has been furnishing its devices with metal since 2012. Apart from the plastic iPhone 5S, it would be Apple’s first time after so long with metal.
Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the 2017 iPhone will come with a glass front and back with a metal outer edge similar to the iPhone 4 and 4S. However, the form and the design of the flagship will be “completely new.” Coming to the display, Kuo believes that Apple will include AMOLED panel with at least one of the 2017’s models.
The KGI analyst believes that Apple will announce a 5.8-inch iPhone next year with AMOLED. We are not sure if the 4.7-inch iPhone will have this new panel induction or not. It is also expected that the next year’s flagship models could also include wireless charging along with biometric recognition tech. The inclusion of the biometric tech would be because of Apple’s somewhat boring and stale features.
Ming-Chi Kuo has a good record of predicting the features right for the company. His little gossipy tidbits here and there have proved quite successful. But, this must be kept in mind that all these predictions are for the devices which will not be coming to our way for another year and a half. So, it might happen that the information is correct but just for now and will change in the coming future.
