Kodak announces IM5 its first smartphone

Iconic imaging brand, Kodak and English leading mobile device manufacturer Bullitt announced the Kodak IM5 Android smartphone. As all the leading smartphone makers carrying on to up their game in terms of camera capabilities, it only seems usual and normal for somebody like Kodak to join the party and launch its very own smartphone.

Few days ago we reported you that Kodak and Bullitt have joined hands to bring mobile devices which would give the users a high end experience. Yesterday Kodak had confirmed our report by unveiling its first smartphone Kodak IM5 at CES 2015 in Las Vegas. Kodak IM5 is designed for the users who want a simplified device and easy to use interface.

The Kodak IM5 features a 5 inches (1920 x 1080) Full HD display, has a RAM of 1GB and memory of built-in 8GB which can be increased up to 32 GB by using MicroSD card. The Kodak IM5 runs Android 4.4 Kit Kat and according to the company it will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but the company did not give any timeline for this update. The smartphone is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor. At this time it is not clear about Kodak IM5 access to Google’s Play Store.

When it comes to camera it is no surprise to see camera capabilities from camera making company. The Kodak IM5 features a 13 mega pixel back camera and 5 mega pixel front camera for video chat and selfies. The device has a Camera-app which will edit your photos, share them on social media and directly print them very soon. The Kodak IM5 is available in black or white, The device will be released in Europe and will be available to sell in this quarter at a price of €229 ($249).
