Micromax is ready to expend its market with its freshly unveiled official Cyanogen smartphone in India. With this release it owns the only official Cyanogen smartphones in Indian market. Its newly launched device is named YUreka which is an Indian inclusive device. Apart from its name, it is a mid-range smartphone which offers some solid specs and features.
This new development by Micromax came following its recent claims over the Shenzhen OnePlus. It led the Shenzhen in a court case for selling Cyanogen running smartphones in India. As Micromax was in a deal, with the US developers, that exclusively allows Micromax to sell Cyanogen smartphones in India. The court battle forced the Shenzhen to remove its OnePlus One from stores.
Now in to the market with its own Cyanogen device, Micromax brought the YUreka which is made with powerful specs but affordable prices, for mid-range smartphone market.
It is also made in a phablet size with a large 5.5-inch screen, 1280 x 720pixel resolution and 267 ppi pixel density. With this display the Yu series device of Micromax loads the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor inside, which is a 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It is also powered with 2GB of RAM. Along with these it has 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. Its 25oomAh battery is also equally powerful.
The YUreka features a 13-megapixel camera on its back and 5-megapixel on front. This camera makes it truly a camera phone where you can not only capture nice shots from its rear but also can have nice Selfies.
It offers the CyanogenMod 11 operating system based on the Android 4.4 KitKat along with any amazing features. Additional to all these it supports 4G LTE and 3G connection which makes it a competent with faster networks.
It is also expecting to avail the additional advantage of its current victory in the court case against the OnePlus One. The OnePlus being a well-priced and powerful smartphone has a good popularity worldwide.
Considering its specification we might find it near to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G which is also about to lend in Indian market. There may be a sharp competition. The YUreka at $140 USD would be ready to for shipping in January.
