Microsoft finally confirms the upcoming Lumia 650 with impressive looks, 5-inch display but with quite disappointing specs than expected. Microsoft took a long time confirming the Lumia 650, meanwhile there have been reports of varying sorts suggesting different features on board. Some of these features seem present on the official Lumia 650 but many others are unfortunately missing on the list.
On the brighter side, the Microsoft Lumia 650 comes out to be an affordable phone with slim size and polished looks. The Lumia 650 carries a 5-inch OLED display with resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The key area on the Lumia 650 seems to be the Windows 10 as it is the first Lumia device in affordable class to load the latest operating system out of the box.
But looking under the hood, the discounted specs of the Lumia 650 give a disappointing impression where Microsoft seems more focused on prices than performance. The price tag on the Lumia 650 is $200 which puts its internal specs depressed to fit the range of affordable devices.
The Lumia 650 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 chipset that gives it quad-core processing powers at 1.3GHz. Though its chipset is quite old as compared with the version of chipset currently used on the popular devices but in affordable range with 1GB of RAM it is seems negotiable. The camera on the Lumia 650 is 8-megapixel on rear face and 5-megapixel on front. Its front camera comes with wide-angle that enable it capturing better selfies.
The Lumia 650 proves a low spec device as compared with other affordable Android running smartphone, some of which have maintained a balance in specs. For instance, at the same prices the HTC Honor 5X brings 5.5inch display, metal frame, fingerprint scanner and much faster Snapdragon 615 chipset with 3GB RAM. The Honor 3X also offers 13megapixel camera and 4G LTE at the same prices.
