Nokia comes up with planes to boost its market shares in India with its 3G and 4G mobile phones on lower prices which will give leverage to the network operators for high speed 4G services.
It has announced its flagship handset Nokia Lumia 830 with lower prices Instead of pricing it on iPhone 5S or Samsung Galaxy Note 4.Nokia’s cheapest 4G phone Lumia 635 priced around Rs 11,300 is not available in India The company has plans to launch its latest 4G enabled phone Lumia 830 priced at around Rs 26,000 by October. Microsoft Devices also unveiled another 4G enabled handset Lumia 735 priced at around Rs 17,500 which is still not announced to launch in India.
Researchers say that during the second quarter of 2014, Nokia was the third largest player in Indian mobile phone market with 10 per cent share followed by the Samsung which topped the chart with 17 per cent and by Indian brand Micromax with 14 per cent share.
The mobile phone business of Nokia, once global leader in mobile phone market was acquired by the Microsoft. It has scored the third position in India where it is facing tough competition by the growing popularity of Android based smartphones especially from Korean giant Samsung.
