Nokia XL Specifications

With the launch of Nokia XL the X family of Nokia smartphones broke the screen limits by getting into the 5-inch territory. It seems to be an advanced move by Nokia X as its windows phone just recently attained the range of 5-inch screens. Nokia X family comes to be an extension of the touchscreen Asha smartphones which still remain low in the screen size along with many other aspects.

As there has been bad experiences with the app echo system on the Asha series the Nokia XL comes with the open source platform. It is loaded with the Nokia X software 1.0.1, based on the Android Open Source Project. With this it has opened up the opportunities to the developers for improved apps. We may expect the up-to-date apps over its powerful hardware.

In its customized interface we have some blends of the services by Nokia and Microsoft. Its many features with unique Nokia experience will replace the usual android features by google. Like the data-efficient Nokia Xpress browser on which you can save a good amount of data while browsing the internet. Also the Nokia Glance screen features is there along with other similar features.

Its display is a 5-inch IPS LCD with a WVGA capacitive touchscreen and 187 ppi pixel density. Comparing its specs to the other devices looks too heavy over its large screen also the screen resolution and pixel density are low which will affect the display result on its large screen.

The Nokia XL comes with a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A5 processor and 786 MB of RAM. There is the Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon S4 Play chipset and also the Adreno 203 GPU which will enable you to experience quality games on it. There is also 4GB of built-in storage which is supported by the expendable microSD card with up to 32 GB. The battery power seems good for the certain specs though the big screen with 5-inches can prove hard over its 2,000mAh Li-Ion battery.

The rear camera is average with a 5MP sensor and FWVGA video recording at 30fps. There is also a 2MP front-facing camera. Though the camera looks good under average specs still its video quality is very poor.

With these specs it is not a much impressive device but with its interesting features it proves to be a good alternative to the touchscreen Asha smartphones. However it has not sacrificed the features over the prices still it is reasonable as compared with the famous low-end smartphones.
