OnePlus has changed its invitation based strategy for the OnePlus X, making it permanently invite-free. With this move, now you don’t need to wait for the OnePlus X any longer. The aspiring users can visit the OnePlus online store to pick their OnePlus X for just $249.
OnePlus’ entry in the smartphone industry was welcomed with positive response considering its impressive combination of features and respectively lesser prices. The first in this regard was the OnePlus One launched back in 2014. The device was put on sale for just $299 while the hardware it promoted ware well beyond the price tag.
Despite all these appreciating points the OnePlus One users were disappointed by its invitation based strategy. The device was, in the first place, offered to the users who have won an invite. Thus, it was either on the users’ luck or the users were to stay patient for the general availability much later.
The invitation strategy was revised with OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus X but it was not put off entirely. However with each device, OnePlus shortened the delay time between actual release and general availability of the devices. Therefore, with each later release the users were set to wait a little shorter.
Now with no invitation in place, users can order their OnePlus X online in either Onyx or Champagne option at any time from the online store. The OnePlus X comes in 5-inch AMOLED display with 1920x1080pixels resolution. It also features good hardware combination with Snapdragon 801 SoC and 3GB RAM. The OnePlus X camera is also equally impressive with 13 megapixels on back and 8 megapixels on front.
Besides the invite-free OnePlus X you can also pick cases for you OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X and OnePlus’ Power Bank from the online store. The cases are displayed with 15% off prices but its power bank is selling on a little hiked prices of $19.99.
