Soon after Samsung released the Galaxy Note 5 with new S Pen, flaws in the new tech started emerging. The new S Pen comes with an improved stylus slot that interacts with the device to help its use. However new automatic response mechanism make it vulnerable to issues that can damage the device itself.
The issue, as we have reported with firsthand accounts, is because of wrong insertion of the S Pen into the socket. The error is quite technical but it can make not only damage your S Pen but can also affect the smartphone. Samsung might have not anticipated damage or its level thus the device was launched without any warning.
But now the company seems seriously considering the issue and the devices now will carry a warning label about the S Pen. Samsung has however mentioned the way to use the S Pen in the user manual which also carry the warning to not insert the pen wrong way. But as we know most of the users never go for the user manual, thus it makes to users vulnerable to unwanted damages.
Samsung can deny taking responsibility as it has already warned users in the user manual but this is never enough for device safety from accidental loses. Thus now Samsung is going to mention it on the devices that are set for shipping in next months. The label will not only tell the correct way to place the S Pen into the socket but also warn users that wrong insertion can damage both S Pen and device.
This seems to be a good step as unlike the user manual the users are more likely to pay attention to warning labels on the device. Hopefully it will reduce the incidents of accidental damages to the Galaxy Note 5 due to wrong insertion of the S Pen.
