Samsung Galaxy S Plus has been a competitive smartphone launch, though things have change over three years, since its launch in 2011. Officially launched with Android 2.3 the Galaxy S Plus has experienced some active development. However, the new developments proved that, yet there are still things to adopt. And this time it has been the arrival of new Android 5.0 build.
Thanks go to the XDA Recognized Developer Christiopher83, now the Samsung Galaxy S Plus is also among the devices which run the highly functional and fresh build. The Android Lollipop build is actually made as an unofficial build of CyanogenMod 12. As mentioned, it is highly functional which means its every feature and functions are working well.
Before this new build the old Galaxy S Plus had Jelly Bean and KitKat builds. These earlier builds were ported via CyanigenMod 10 and 11 tweaked versions. These builds also did well and got a warm acceptance by the existing Galaxy S plus users. Apart from these earlier developments the Lollipop builds also brings new possibilities over its already active builds.
The new Lollipop build for Galaxy S Plus is called highly functional by its developer. Though there are some bugs still its many essential features and functions are actually working. For instance, its entire basic functions are working. These basic functions include Call, SMS, Camera and Audio function along with Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth and Mass Storage functions. Also its legacy sensors are well functioning which includes Gravity sensor, Linear Acceleration sensor and Rotation Vector sensor.
There are also bugs which are expected. The initial bugs are found in its Power-off charging animation and Call UI. Though, non-functioning of its Power-off charging animation is something which can be ignored but the lag in its call UI affects much. It however feels bad to have lags while starting or receiving a call. Bugs are also experienced in its camera apps which force stops while recording video. However, considering its high functionality the bugs seems very less which can be ignored or fixed soon. apart from these it is a working build.
