So the wait is over and Sony has released its latest flagship device the Sony Xperia Z4 today in Japan. For now Xperia Z4 will only be available in Japan and Sony has not revealed anything about the international markets. Similarly Sony has not revealed the compact version yet as well contrary to its tradition. Below are the brief specifications of Sony Xperia Z4.
The new Xperia Z4 is not very much different from its predecessor the Xperia Z3, except for powerful Snapdragon 810 and a better front camera. With 5.2-inch display screen, the 6.9mm thinner Xperia Z4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, having 2GHz processing speed and octa-core 64-bit processor. With this the latest Xperia Z4 will come with 20.7 MP camera at back (no OIS support was mentioned) and the 5.1 MP camera at the front with wide angle lens. With 3GB RAM it will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop and powered by 2930 mAh battery and supported by metal frame at back.
Sony continued its trend of making water resistant phones and it is the only positive thing we see in Xperia Z4 when comparing it with other latest smartphones like Galaxy S6 which lacks the water resistance ability. Other than that when we compare the Xperia Z4 with latest trends we do not see anything big and it looks like an iteration to its predecessors. This not only will hurt the Xperia market but it also reflects the ‘interest’ of Sony in the smartphones business.
Sony has not revealed any details about the pricing of the Xperia Z4 yet but we are quite confident that now Sony will not further delay the release date of Xperia Z4 for international markets and it can be announced by summer this year when it will be available for sale in Japanese markets.
