Among various compact flagships this year Sony Xperia Z5 Compact stands among topers. With a compact size, heavy specs and other noted features it has been impressive since its arrival. But unlike its many appreciated features users faced an unpleasant situation after its large touch screen started making problems. But, it is not too late, and Sony not only admitted the issue but also promised an immediate fix.
According to the statement by Sony the issue does exist. However Sony says it was reported by a limited number of users with white Xperia Z5 Compact. It further says that the issue with touch screen is considered and a fix is ready to roll out to its users. Sony is going to push the update to users by next week.
The issue as reported sought to be a familiar one. According to reports by certain users facing the issue the touch on their white Z5 Compact either became irresponsive or over responsive. For the later users, a single touch was reported to register multiple commands. Both issues were admitted and as per Sony’s statement both issues will be sorted out by next week.
Though Sony has narrowed down the issue to a limited number and with software but many may don’t agree. According to certain reports the first batch of Sony Xperia Z5 Compact arrived with some hardware glitches and the issue with its display is counted to be related one.
Sony’s statement used very carefully selected words in this regards:
Sony Mobile is committed to providing the highest standards of product quality and customer service for all of our products. We are aware of reports of a limited number of customers experiencing touch input issues on their white Xperia Z5 Compact devices. By gathering information and analysing returned devices we have found the root cause and will release a new software to improve the user experience on your white Xperia Z5 Compact. Other colour versions of the Xperia Z5 Compact are not affected by this issue.
The software update will be available on our support software PC Companion and Bridge for Mac from beginning of week 44. The software is rolling out through retail partners with exact timings varying by region and/or operator.
The statement by Sony states that other devices of the Xperia Z5 are not facing any issue with display. It further says that the issue has been analyzed and identifies with the software on the White devices. And the update addressing the same software issue is going to solve it permanently. Yet the fix is to rule out after a week it will hopefully solve the issue.
