Xiaomi Mi 5 coded named Gemini reveals Snapdragon 820 on Geekbench

After making its Mi 4 rule the market for about one and half years the key Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi gets ready to bring something new. With some successful launches in the Chinese market Xiaomi got its reputation to grow wings. The next is probably the Xiaomi Mi 5 which is yet being quoted with code name of Gemini.

Meanwhile Xiaomi has been busy not only expending its portfolio but also creating space in restricted markets.
Following the Mi 4 Xiaomi continued with the series up to two of its devices the Mi 4c and the Mi 4i. But both remained just a continuity of Mi 4 without bringing any shift into level of device. This time Xiaomi seems to have planned something bigger, thus switching to Mi 5.

Though Xiaomi isn’t vocal about the future plans regarding the Mi 5 we got some info out of benchmarking tests. On the Geekbench Xiaomi Gemini made its appearance with some appreciating details. Here the listed Xiaomi device is code-named as Gemini which is thought to be none other than the Mi 5. As we go through the benchmarking results there are some high details about the specs that places the device among high-enders.

Analyzing the data on the benchmarking site we find the alleged Gemini with the Snapdragon 820 SoC. It sounds good, the powerful chipset by Qualcomm give you 64-bit quad-core performance. The new version of chipset is also listed for many high end smartphones. Thus we expect the upcoming Xiaomi device to stand among key player in the market upon its arrival.


In addition the data show a 3GB RAM which is quite up to the mark with the processing details. There is no hint about the GPU but we can assume the Adreno 530 GPU which is employed in current Xiaomi devices. It also shows Android 6.0 Marshmallow to arrive with Mi 5 out of box.
