Xiaomi officially unveiled Redmi 2S

Xiaomi has unveiled Redmi 2S an entry-level phone, for 2015. Last year was proved very good for the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi, as the company became the third largest smartphone maker in the world. It looks like that the Xiaomi do not want to waste any time for the celebration of last year’s achievements and now it has unveiled its hottest brand, for the year 2015 Redmi 2S.

The Redmi 2S is a successor to the extremely popular Redmi 1S. And as it was expected Redmi 2S bears much similarity to the Redmi 1S. According to Xiaomi, this is a very affordable smartphone, it is priced at 699 Yuan in china which becomes US $112. This is a very low price smartphone indeed but the price tag of the Redmi 2S will not be a surprise for someone because Xiaomi is known for its low price strategy.


The Xiaomi’s Redmi 2S features a 4.7 inches 720p display, 1 GB RAM and 8 Gb internal storage which can be expand up to 32GB by connecting a microSD card. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz which ships with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics rendering. The back camera of Redmi 2S is 8 mega pixel while the front camera is only 2 mega pixel. We can say that The camera did not get much of an improvement as the Redmi 1S also featured the 8 mega pixel camera on its back. But camera of Redmi 2S has OmniVision’s BSI sensor, a new and improved which can take 10 images in a second and also can shoot 1080p video.

The “Redmi 2S “ also features a Android 4.4 KitKat which comes pre-installed in it. Its weight is 33 grams and its dimensions are 134 × 67.2 × 9.4mm. There’s a microUSB 2.0 port that supports QuickCharge 1.0 to charge 2,200mAh Li-Po battery.

The Redmi 2S is now available for pre-order in its homeland, China and it will be on sale from January 9. The Xiaomi offering its hottest smartphone in many colors at a very affordable price.
