A Russian Bitcoin forum has unveiled a long list of 5 million Gmail passwords leaked this wednesday with the respective email addresses
If you are using Gmail, it is time to change your password! As a Russian Bitcoin forum released a list of some 5 million Gmail addresses and passwords on Wednesday which has raised questions on the security of the Gmail– Google’s Mail Service.
On the other hand Google has refused that Passwords were stollen from its database servers claiming the credentials were collected from other websites and Gmail database was never hacked.
“We have no evidence that our systems have been compromised,” said Google spokeswoman Caroline Matthews.
Despite the claim, the company has locked all those accounts which were in the published list and all these users are being redirected to Password Recovery page.
Most of the email addresses in the list are of English, Russian and Spanish Speaking users of Gmail. Sources claimed that hackers from Russian and Eastern Europe were involved in this high-profile security lapse.
