Design Of The “Most Wanted” Smartphones

The Sony’s Mid-Range Xperia X

Starting with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the design of the device is the refined version of the predecessor, With 5.5-inch screen, the compact feel with metallic luster and polished attraction makes this device a winner. The body of the handset has been made from the pure aluminum along with Gorilla Glass 4 protection on front and on the back.

On the other hand, the second Samsung product the Galaxy S7 is much similar to the previous Galaxy S6. The S7 is made from glass and metal with little less apparent curves here and there. With water and dual resistance, the microSD card is back with the SIM tray. Both the re-additions have made this device very appealing. Samsung’s very own solution for the heating is also present. Coming to LG G5, it also has a metal design but without any inclusion of glass. The front of the handset is quite similar to the predecessor, however, the back has got cool changes like the screen to body ratio with impressive bezels.

Coming to Xperia X, which is the only mid-range it has a premium feel. With smooth metal exterior and brushed aluminum case the handset is beautiful. With 7.9mm body, the device is not the thinnest but rather comforting. The fingerprint scanner is also present. All the MWC launched Smartphones have their own perks, but the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge takes a little edge over the design.

Display And Stuff….

Once again starting with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, it has the old 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution. Without 4K display, it has 5.5-inch Super AMOLED unit with apparent curved sides. The pixel edges are 510 dpi. The display is vivid, lively bright with good feel to the eyes. To the other Samsung addition, the Galaxy S7 has a .1 inch QHD display with the dazzling Always-On-feature.

Giving a head to head to the Samsung launches, the LG G5 has a Quad-HD resolution display paired with IPS Quantum display technology. This flagship also comes with Always-on mode. What gives this device an authority over the other is the display driver’s IC memory and power management facilities to indirectly save battery life.  With the Daylight Mode, the brightness of the display will just be perfect whenever you want. The brightness can shot up to around 850 nits. The last and the most significant addition to the flagship lineup, the Xperia X has a 5 inch 1080×1920 display which is nowhere near the above mentioned Smartphones. But, still, you are tiling about the mid-ranger here. The Sony’s exclusive technology has made the display subtle, attractive and simple.

Ending this category, every Smartphone have their own attractive displays paired with other astonishing features. However, the LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 with their Always Ons’ are more important and valuable than the others with former taking the slight leap towards the top.

What’s Under-The-Hood?

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes with the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow TouchWiz interface with changes with setup menu. The appearance has been changed to-the-point with a simple and more stylish look. The chipset will come with either Exynos chips or a Snapdragon 820. Both of the chipsets will come with 4GB RAM, and up to 30% more CPU performance and 64 percent GPU performance than before. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S7 has the same features as that of the S7 Edge. The North Korean company didn’t want to slip any chances of making both the device hit, that’s why the performance capability has been made the same.

LG G5 comes with the Qualcomm’s latest, most powerful Snapdragon 820. Paired with LPDDR4 RAM, the LG G5 has 4GB to satisfy your memory needs. The LG G5 also comes with 32GB of UFS storage. The latest LG flagship comes with an aptX HD codec that supports 24-bit sound over Bluetooth.  Much like the other three devices of the list, the Xperia X also comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The home screen lags behind, the over-stuffed menu and the excess of home screen apps is irritating. The Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor with 3GB RAM is good but not par the point of the other competitors.

Comparing the devices here is difficult, because the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and LG G5 all have the same materials under the block with apparently similar performance. The visible difference will only be noted after months of use.

Camera Details

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes with a 12 MP sensor and has a f/1.7 aperture and dual-pixel technology. As for the selfie cam, you have got a 5 MP sensor and a f/1.7 aperture. Samsung in its MWC unveiling also demonstrated how well the duo is in focusing. And to the dismay of the competitors and to the surprise of us, the focus was instant and wonderful. You’ll be able shoot 4K and slow-motion video too. Samsung compared the camera with the iPhone 6S and we have no doubt that Samsung wins. The Samsung Galaxy S7 also has the same camera features along with the other details and phase detection etc.

LG G5 with dual-cameras on the back is also the big competitor of the winner title. The two cameras on the back are 16MP and 8MP with 78-degree lens, and an extra-wide 135-degree lens, respectively. . The viewing angle is 1.7 times wider than the other Smartphone cameras and 15 degrees wider than the human eye’s field of view. As for the selfie camera, there is an 8-megapixel unit. Coming to the Xperia X, product by Sony which is famous for its cameras it has the 23MP sensor with company’s hybrid autofocus technology that can apparently predict the way your subject moves in order to take the perfect photo. On the front, there is a camera and 22mm wide-angle lens, which proves to be one of the clearest selfie-cams on the market.

The cameras of all the Smartphones are excellent. However, Sony with its expected details is way far than average.

Impressive Battery lives?

Sony's Xperia X Range with Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a battery capacity of powerful 3,600mAh. Samsung has claimed that you will be able to watch the entire season of the Game Of Thrones without any battery break. Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with good 3000mAh battery. LG G5 comes with the dull 2900mAh battery, which is weak as compared to the modern flagships. Sony Xperia X comes with a 2,260mAh battery which Sony has will outperform more expensive handsets with its promise of two days on a single charge.

The battery of all the devices is good; however, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is what we all know we need nowadays. While, Sony claims that Xperia X’s battery is capable of defeating the big names. We can’t agree till we have a solid proof of its existence.

FINAL VERDICT

All the Smartphones mentioned were the highlights of the MWC 2016. We can easily say that these devices are going to be the next-gen Smartphones with features we all dreamt about. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has what stunned all because, frankly, we weren’t expecting  the Samsung to be that great with the flagship so soon. The device shattered all the first positive reactions ever noticed. The S7 Edge even managed to left the iPhone 6S fan-faring behind. However, LG G5 with all new techs, changes and innovations was heavy over Samsung Galaxy S7, which we initially haven’t expected. Xperia X is a far cry in front of these but depends upon the price. If it truly is a mid-ranger than we have heads-up with spectacular specifications.

For now, it is safe to say that Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is ruling the Smartphone industry with no device quite near to shatter its popularity. What’s your take?
