Asus has always been a PC powerhouse, especially when it comes to gaming hardware. In fact, they even created a separate line for it: the Republic of Gamers (ROG). If you recall, we even featured one of the most notable ROG PCs of the company, the G752VT, in a previous article on the best gaming laptops, and it was applauded for its cheap yet solid benchmark performance. The Asus ROG Phones are much the same.
Now, with the release of the Asus ROG Phone 3, we are excited to share everything that we know about it so far.
Specifications
Riding on the success of the ROG Phone 2, the ROG Phone 3 aims to be yet another impressive addition to Asus’ growing list of gaming smartphones. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset for optimum performance, which may make use of metal core PCB technology to easily transfer heat away from active components. Most mobile phones come with standard PCBs, but for a phone built for gaming, preventing the components from burning out is crucial. A user even caught it clocking at 3.09GHz recently, which is bound to drive your average hardware to its limit. Fortunately, the ROG Phone 3 is no ordinary device.
Additionally, the device has a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 6000mAh battery, and 30W fast charging. It will also support up to 4K quality of video recording and playback. Besides this, it has a refresh rate of 144 Hz.
When setting up the device you’d first have to select your desired theme and then scan the ROG logo on the box. A sudden scanning animation will appear on your screen and lastly turns into a game that you have to play in order to complete the setup.

Earlier, a couple of ROG Phone 3 photos were leaked onto TENAA (a Chinese certification center)—giving us a near-complete image.

One photo contained the back of the phone, where we can see a triple-camera setup, plus, a “64MP quad Bayer” label directly below it. The Tencent Games brand can also be seen at the bottom part, which implies a special variant of the publisher. However, much like the Tencent ROG Phone 2, it may not be available outside of Asia.

The second photo is that of an alleged promotional poster. It features a glimpse of its front and what appears to be a USB-C and 3.5mm port at the bottom. As official listings from Asus have already confirmed that the phone will have no headphone jack. Although the Asus ROG Phone 3 has no headphone jack it comes with an extra accessory that has a headphone jack.
Still, all of the details revealed about the device have been nothing but good so far.
