HTC will start rolling out Android 6.0 Update in January in certain regions

HTC One M9 with 3GB RAM

After many devices heading towards the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow version HTC makes an announcement too for its HTC One M9. A tweet by company official shows the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates are set for the devices early next year. Current hint about the Android updates for HTC One M9 are exclusive for Canadian carrier-branded phones. Thus the users in other regions may have to wait a little longer.

The early 2016 arrival of the Android 6.0 updates on the HTC One M9 will miss the features on the latest Android 6.0 updates. The latest Android 6.0.1 build was recently launched with some additional colors featuring new emoji collection with some fixes. We may get the upgrades later but right now it would be nice to get the HTC One M9 with Android 6.0 marshmallow flavor.

We also had some clues following certain reports about the Android updates for devices by the Canadian operators. Telus, a Canadian carrier updated its schedule for upcoming software versions, back in October. The updated schedule also included the HTC One M9 for Android 6.0 which was scheduled for updates on January 21.

Though the current info doesn’t mention the date as mentioned by Telus but the early 2016 seems to be the same date. Therefore beside the Telus, other Canadian carriers are also expected to bring Android 6.0 updates on the same day. The Telus update schedule also shows the HTC One M8 getting updates about a month earlier, by December 17 in this week.

By the date HTC One M9 may get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates there are a number of new features to experience. Though some may miss the nice emojis of latest updates but still there is the new app permission system of the Marshmallow with the Doze and Google Now contextual search feature. These new features have not only enhanced the performance but also the looks of the Android UI.
