With rising competition Facebook is bringing more integrated features on its popular Messenger. We have recently seen a number of additional features bringing other services closer to the Messengers and now it is time for Uber cars. Uber integration is introduced into Facebook Messenger with some other nice upgrades including the support for Apple iPhone 6’s 3D Touch.
Following the fresh updates now the customers of Uber cars can avail the services through the Facebook Messenger on their devices. This enables users to make use of both services at the same time while chatting with their FB friends and also get Uber services anytime they need it.
Today, we’re expanding the services available to you with our launch of transportation on Messenger. With this new feature, you can request a ride from a car service without ever needing to download an extra app or leave a conversation. It’s super easy and doesn’t take you away from the plans that you’re making with your friends or family.
Facebook has updated the Messenger with a detailed update note suggesting the new additions on the app. It is quite special as Facebook usually don’t release update notes with regular updates bringing minor features to its apps. With updates now the iOS and Android users can call Uber cars without opening or even having the Uber app installed on their devices. Right on the Facebook Messenger they can order Uber cars without leaving their conversation. The updates are not only limited to new features but also there is a free token. After linking the Uber and Facebook accounts users can also avail $20 free credit.
Users can call an Uber car by either searching the company name on the Messenger or by opening an address while chatting. For instance, during conversations as user taps an address it will also register as the Uber car destination, and from here it is just to order the service. Besides the Uber services, with updated Facebook Messenger iPhone users can also take advantage of 3D Touch on Messenger. This brings more commands with their pressure sensitive touch screen.
